“Good education costs money”

Duration

The Beyond Eight Program is a unique program that strives to provide all students with the opportunity to achieve their potential. The Program provides the platform for students to later obtain university and tertiary placements. Therefore, we encourage educational-partners to commit to supporting a student involved in the Program throughout their high school education of 4 years In the event that an educational-partner has to break their commitment to support a student for 4 years, we ask that they provide at least 2 months notice.

Possible changes

Student

As priority is given on the basis of economic circumstances and academic performance, Beyond Eight has the complete and sole discretion to change your partnered-student based on (but not limited to) the following factors:

  • the student’s academic performance, and
  • the student’s economic status.

Costs

The educational costs (e.g. – tuition, textbooks, uniforms etc.) covered by your partnership option may change depending on price, exchange rate and other factors associated with providing a student with an education. Beyond Eight will endeavour to inform all partners of any substantial changes in the use of their partnership funds.

Automatic Payment

Beyond Eight uses an automatic payment method to get funds from you (the educational partner). Allowing us to direct debit your bank account, building society or credit card account, is the safest, most reliable, effective and most transparent means of fund handling.

Initial terms of the arrangement

In terms of the automatic payment arrangement, we undertake to periodically debit your nominated account for the agreed amount for your support of the 38degrees Program.

Drawing arrangements
  • The first drawing under this automatic payment arrangement will occur on the day that you sign up as an educational-partner, with future recurring payments occurring on the 20th of every month.
  • If any drawing falls due on a non-business day, it will be debited to your account on the next business day following the scheduled drawing date.
  • We will give you at least 7 days notice in writing when changes to the initial terms of the arrangement are made. This notice will state any changes to the initial terms.
  • If you wish to discuss any changes to the initial terms, please contact us at enquiries@beyondeight.org.
Changes to the arrangement

If you want to make changes to the drawing arrangements, contact us at least five (10) business days prior to the next due date. These changes may include: deferring the drawing; altering the schedule; stopping an individual debit; suspending the automatic payment; change of account details.

Enquiries

Please direct all enquiries to us, rather than to your financial institution. These should be made at least five (10) business days prior to the next scheduled drawing date. All personal customer information held by us will be kept confidential except information provided to our financial institution to initiate the drawing from your nominated account.

Disputes
  • If you believe that a drawing has been initiated incorrectly, we encourage you to take the matter up directly with us by emailing enquiries@38degrees.org
  • You will receive a refund of the drawing amount if we cannot substantiate the reason for the drawing.

Note: Your financial institution will ask you to contact us to resolve your disputed drawing prior to involving them.

Your commitment to us

It is your responsibility to ensure that:

  • Your nominated account can accept direct debits (your financial institution can confirm this);
  • On the drawing date there are sufficient cleared funds in the nominated account; and
  • You advise us if the nominated account is transferred or closed.

We reserve the right to cancel your automatic payment if two (2) or more direct debits are returned unpaid by your financial institution.

We will contact you to arrange an alternative payment method.

Note:

* Beyond Eight is a Charitable Institution under Australian law, and has the authority to conduct fundraising activities.

* Beyond Eight is not yet eligible to apply for deductible gift recipient (DGR) status, since we are a recently established organisation. This means that your donations are not yet tax deductible. Upon being granted DGR status, you may be permitted to claim all past donations. We anticipate that Beyond Eight will be eligible and will apply for DGR status within the next 12-20 months. Our supporters will be informed if and when DGR status is obtained.
